This company offers flights for 2€ for children

-

This Icelandic low-cost airline is offering a unique deal: €2 tickets for children on flights to Iceland and North America departing from Paris.

Attention families already looking for a change of scenery: Icelandic airline Play, a specialist in low prices, is hitting hard with an offer that has everything to seduce: between September 10 and 17, 2024, children aged 2 to 11 will be able to fly to Iceland or North America for just €2. Yes, you read that right: €2 to discover the Reykjavik geysers or stroll through Central Park, provided you book an adult ticket at the same time. Of course, even if restrictions and baggage fees may apply, this offer includes all taxes, fees and carrier charges.

And the destinations concerned are not lacking in charm: Reykjavik on a direct flight, or New York, Boston, Washington and Toronto via a short stopover in Iceland. Please note, this offer is only valid for round trips, between September and December 2024, departing from Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Perfect for the All Saints’ Day holidays which begin this year on Saturday, October 19, 2024 after school.

A bold economic model

Play, a company born in the heart of the pandemic in 2021, has been able to capitalize on an ultra-low cost approach, where other carriers struggled to emerge from the crisis. Since its IPO in Reykjavik, it has raised $90 million and proven that crises can offer opportunities. At its head, Birgir Jonsson, a visionary co-founder, who often takes the example of Ryanair, whose success took off after the attacks of September 11, 2001.

The secret to this success? A strategic hub in Reykjavik, between Europe and the United States, allowing Play to offer ultra-competitive prices for those who accept an Icelandic stopover. Unlike Wow Air, which disappeared in 2019, PLAY has learned from its sister company’s failure by focusing on short and frequent routes, rather than overly ambitious long-haul connections.

Be careful though, places are limited. This offer, valid on a first-come, first-served basis, is only available on the Play company website. All that’s left to do is pack your bags.
