Six transfers but savings: Olivier Renard followed the specifications in Anderlecht – all football

On paper, Anderlecht reinforced its nucleus this winter; It remains to be seen how the old and new pieces of the puzzle overlap. Olivier Renard was very active for his first transfer window, while respecting the financial specifications.
Let’s take stock: this winter, the RSC Anderlecht recruited César Huerta, Lucas Hey and Elyss Dao to immediately strengthen team A. According to our information (and general ones), they are not among the biggest wages of the purple & white wardrobe. Cedric Hatenboer was also recruited, but part of his salary is still paid by Excelsior Rotterdam where he was immediately loaned.
These four players, therefore, cost about 7.5 million euros in Anderlecht. Enzo Sternal and Ibrahim Kanaté also joined the RSCA Futures, but as future now have their own budget, the 2.3 million euros paid do not have an impact on the budget of the first team.
Thus, just under 10 million euros were spent for young players with high resale potential. This is the club’s objective, creating added value on purchased players, which has not always been the case in recent years.
A significant reduction in the wage bill
Perhaps even more important, the departures of Anders Dreyer, Zanka, Abdulrazak Ishaq and Amadou Diawara made it possible to lighten the payroll. With the imminent transfer of Francis Amuzu, this would make five important departures in terms of salary. This would even represent a wage bill of around 4.5 million euros. However, a break in break has probably been paid in the case of Diawara.
In the end, Anderlecht is positive in its purchasing-sale assessment. During the summer transfer window, only Jan-Carlo Simic cost 3 million euros. In total, around 10 million were spent and 22.5 million (especially thanks to the 15.5 million for Zeno Debast) were collected.
Olivier Renard acted strategically by first selling Dreyer before investing in new players. The probable reduction in the payroll of several million thanks to the numberus departures has certainly been well received by management …
