Sweden: a dozen people killed in a teaching center, the dead shooter

A “dozen” people were killed on Tuesday in a shooting in an adult teaching center in Örebro, center of Sweden, and the killer is also dead, police announced.

This is the shooting in a deadliest school that Sweden has ever known in its history.

According to the TV4 television channel, the alleged killer was 35 years old and the police searched his home in Örebro at the end of the day. He had a port of weapon and a virgin criminal record, adds the chain.
The previous assessment reported four injured in this teaching center 200 km west of Stockholm and indicated that the shooter was also injured.
The authorities had not given any element on his profile or his motivations.
Earlier, police reported five people affected by fire.

The alert was given around 12:30 pm local and the police operation was still in progress four hours later around the targeted teaching center, the Risbergska campus, reserved for adults preparing the equivalent of the bac.

A head of Örebro health services, Jonas Claesson, said five people had been admitted to the city’s university hospital after the shooting.
One of the teachers said he was in the establishment when he heard the shots.

Schools are relatively spared by violence in Sweden, which has however known in recent years in districts of shootings and explosions of craft vehicles, who kill dozens of people each year.
Several serious incidents have taken place in schools in recent years.
In March 2022, an 18 -year -old pupil stabbed two teachers in a school in the city of Malmö in the south of the country.
Two months earlier, a 16 -year -old was arrested after having injured another student and a teacher with a knife in a school in the small town of Kristianstad.
