Tanger Med records growth in port activities in 2024

The Tanger Med port complex handled more than 10.24 million TEU containers in 2024, representing an increase of 18.8% compared to 2023.

This increase is due to operator confidence, improvements to facilities and optimization of stopovers.

The port also handled 516,842 TIR trucks, an increase of 8.1%, and welcomed 3,047,387 passengers, an increase of 13%.

The two vehicle terminals handled 600,872 vehicles, with an increase of 4%.

Although dry bulk traffic stagnated, the volume of hydrocarbons fell by 22% due to their transfer to other ports.

In total, 142 million tonnes of goods were handled, with 17,479 maritime calls, including 1,217 mega-ships.
