In a recent interview with Classic RockDevin Townsend shared personal thoughts on his Music career and tastes. Here are some highlights…
His favorite album among those he created
Devin Townsend stated that Snuggles (2021), an album he produced during the pandemic, was the one he was most proud of: “It was a conscious effort to try to make people happier. I asked several female voices to sing, with the only directive that what they say be constructive, like a prayer or mantra. Listening to this album one day, I felt the positivity it conveys and it made me very proud.”
This album, imbued with sweetness and hope, reflects Devin's intention to convey calming emotions in a troubled world.

His least favorite albums
Although he does not disavow any of his work, Townsend cited Physicist (2000) et Z2 (2014) as its least good: “If I don't like an album as much as the others, it's only because the period in which I created it was less enjoyable.”
These records, while technically sound, relate to more difficult times in his personal and professional life.
-The song he wants for his funeral
When asked what song he would like for his funeral, Townsend responded without hesitation Prabhujee by Ravi Shankar and George Harrison: “It’s probably my favorite song of all time. I think I first heard it when I started taking acid. While a lot of music from that era no longer has value to me today, this one has retained its relevance over time.”
This song, imbued with spirituality, seems to perfectly represent the artist's introspective and contemplative state of mind.
