Private radio stations are coming together. By creating the Radio Alliance, the main market players, including RTL, intend to weigh in and “establish a constant dialogue between its members and the public authorities in favor of a modernized legislative and regulatory framework”.
This new association includes the radios of the M6 group (RTL, RTL2 and Fun Radio), the NRJ group (NRJ, Nostalgie, Chérie FM, Rires et Chansons), 176 independent local, regional, thematic and general radio stations members of SIRTI , the radios of the Lagardère Radio group (Europe 1, Europe 2 and RFM), the radios of the RMC BFM group (RMC and BFM Business), Radio Classical and Skyrock.
The Alliance intends to ensure, “with both economic players and the general public, the promotion of radio media” and “prepare the future of the media and make its specific needs heard in the face of the revolution in digital uses and technological innovations in creation and information”.
“In the current context of transformation of uses, uniting and working together on changes in the sector and regulatory or technological developments is essential, declared Régis Ravanas, president of this new Alliance and general manager of the audio activities of the M6 group. I am very happy to chair this collective structure alongside Christophe Schalk, vice-president, Constance Benqué, Maryam Salehi, Jean-Philippe Baille, Pierre Bellanger and Pierre Cécile. Durand-Girard, general delegate, will embody the voice of this unprecedented mobilization of private radio players.
