John Klingberg is set to resume his NHL career.
According to TSN insider Darren Dreger, the defenseman and free agent is attracting interest from five to seven teams, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators and Edmonton Oilers. A decision should be made within two weeks, Dreger adds.
Klingberg, who is 32, appeared in 14 games with the Maple Leafs last season, recording five assists before having to undergo hip resurfacing surgery that ended his season in December 2023.
Drafted 131st overall by the Dallas Stars in the 2010 draft, Klingberg scored 81 goals and 412 points in 633 career games with the Stars, Anaheim Ducks, Minnesota Wild and Maple Leafs.
