As 2024 draws to a close, Bring Me The Horizon singer Oli Sykes looks back on a banner year for the band. Between their biggest UK tour to date, the album release Post Human: NeX GEnand a world tour, Sheffield's stars have reached new heights. Yet Oli maintains a humble and thoughtful perspective on their success.
A memorable year 2024
For Bring Me The Horizon, 2024 has been an eventful year. The tour NX_GNwhich debuted in January, made its mark with gigantic concerts in the United Kingdom, supported by Static Dress, Cassyette, and Bad Omens. In May, they released the highly anticipated album Post Human: NeX GEnacclaimed throughout the world.
Despite these successes, Oli emphasizes the importance of taking a step back Again! : “It's easy to focus on what's next, but sometimes you have to stop, breathe and say, 'What we've accomplished is incredible.'”

A group more united than ever
Oli attributes much of their success to the group's dynamic, described as “the best they've ever had” (following the split with Jordan Fish a year ago). “We've always been close, but this year we're really all on the same page. There is no competition, no tensions. We are a strong unit.”
This sense of unity has also manifested itself in their side projects, like their YouTube parody show, Unbeleevable. Written and directed by Oli, this series reflects their desire to have fun and experiment, even on tour.
Oli's perspective on success
Despite fronting one of the biggest bands in modern rock, Oli admits he still feels like an outsider: “When we get asked to play at a big festival, I always ask myself: 'Are they kidding?' But it’s important to realize what we’ve accomplished.”
This mindset has changed the way he views music and reviews: “I know some people love our music, and some people don't. But I'm proud of what we do. Every NeX GEn song is special to me.”
What awaits Bring Me The Horizon in 2025
For 2025, Oli plans to take a well-deserved break, but recognizes that the band probably won't be able to stay inactive for long. With their headliner in Reading & Leeds in the summer, concerts planned in the United States, and the possibility of a “director's cut” of Post Human: NeX GEnthe group still has a lot to offer.
Despite their busy schedule, Oli remains committed to the idea of working on himself: “After lockdown, I realized that I also had to focus on Oli Sykes, the person, and not just the musician. It’s a work in progress, but I’m getting there.”
