Last September, Thomas Dutronc released his highly anticipated sixth solo album after the last Dutronc & Dutronc recorded with his father in 2020. This CD is called It’s never too late and includes eleven titles including The little joys. “There are so many tears, so many misfortunes, don’t let the little joys pass” sings the 51-year-old man. A song which now has a music video as revealed by the artist on his Instagram account this December 13, 2024. A clip not quite like the others.
Indeed, Thomas Dutronc does not seem to appear in the video shot in black and white. On the other hand, great personalities accepted his invitation. Facing the camera, we start by seeing Sandrine Bonnaire in tears on the sounds of the guitar in the introduction then appear in front of the camera Emmanuelle Béart, Pierre Richard or even Julie Depardieu. The emotion is strong. Jean-Pierre Darroussin seems to remember the times gone by. Gérard Jugnotjust as sad, is supported by a loved one (Thomas Dutronc himself?, editor’s note).
On Instagram, this December 13, the Parisian thank those who participated in this wonderful project. And clip sublime which makes you reflect on the time that passes, on all these moments wasted by trifles, on all the tears shed. And Thomas Dutronc knows so well what he is talking about, he who lost his mother, François Hardy, on June 11.
Thomas Dutronc: the artist makes a famous TV host fall for him
On December 6, Thomas Dutronc was the guest of “Taratata” on France 2. For the occasion, the singer performed his latest single The little joys and also gave another nice performance. With Emma Peters, this one resumed There is no happy love by Georges Brassens. A more than symbolic title since it was also sung by his mother in 1967. A beautiful tribute that did not stop there. At the end of the service Nagui turned to Thomas Dutronc to recite a text to him.
“Even if I have to let go of your hand, without being able to say see you tomorrow, nothing will ever break our bonds. Even if I have to go further, cut ties, change trains, love is stronger than sorrow. The love that makes our hearts beat will sublimate this pain… Transform… The bridge into gold…” read the host moved to tears. This text titled So many beautiful things echoes Françoise Hardy’s 24th album released 20 years ago. A moment rich in emotion during which the two men ended up hugging.
