Korn and Gojira Surprise with Rare Tracks on Joint US Tour

Korn, Gojira, and Spiritbox’s U.S. tour kicked off with a bang on September 12 at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, Florida. Fans were treated to some unexpected surprises, with rarely performed tracks and live premieres highlighting the evening.

Korn resurrects forgotten songs

At the opening show, Korn delighted fans by dusting off some of their rarest tracks. The band notably played Hey Daddy for the first time since 1999, a real gem from their Issues album. Additionally, they performed Oildale (Leave Me Alone), a song that hadn’t been played since 2012, and it was the first time the song was performed with guitarist Brian “Head” Welch since his return to the band in 2013.

Another standout of the night was Dead Bodies Everywhere, performed for the first time since 2019. The night showed that Korn aren’t afraid to dig into their repertoire to give fans lesser-known tracks from their recent performances.

The rest of the setlist included classics such as Here to Stay, Freak on a Leash, and a special medley of Shoots and Ladders featuring a snippet of Metallica’s cult classic, One.

Gojira awakens The Axe

Meanwhile, French progressive death metal band Gojira also gave their fans a nice surprise by performing The Axe for the first time since 2017. The band also included an excerpt from their “Olympic song” Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça ira!) before playing Silvera. With a powerful set including songs like Flying Whales and Amazonia, Gojira proved that they are still as imposing on stage as ever.

Gojira vocalist and guitarist Joe Duplantier recently revealed in an interview with Loudwire Nights that the band is currently working on a new album, adding that the band is “very ambitious” about the quality of the upcoming songs.

Spiritbox plays Soft Spine for the first time

As the opening act, Spiritbox made a strong impression by playing their new single Soft Spine live for the first time. The Canadian band, who are experiencing a meteoric rise in the alternative metal scene, intend to take advantage of this tour to present new compositions, generating great excitement among the fans present.
