Florent Pagny was forced to take a break from his career to fight lung cancer. The singer was greatly missed by his fans, who have been delighted to have him back for several months. In the columns of Paris Match
this Thursday, November 21, he made some confidences concerning his health. “I had a problem just recently, I hadn't been behind a microphone in a year and I was having a hard time”he said. During his convalescence, the singer devoted himself fully to the illness, putting his career aside. So, returning to the forefront was not very easy for him.
Florent Pagny affirms: “I said yes to Francis Lalanne – his song was good – to do a track in support of Paul Watsonand I realized that I really needed to warm up my voice”. Although this piece was close to his heart, he nevertheless admits to having encountered many difficulties during production.
“I suffered, and then the good verses like the good choruses arrived at the end of the session,” he declared before continuing:
“But I had this little moment of doubt, where I said to myself “damn I’m getting old”.
Florent Pagny: a singer who finds his fans
Florent Pagny is delighted to see his audience again but he is aware that he must not neglect his health. “ I did a fifth check yesterday,” he revealed before adding: “Nothing is moving, but we continue to monitor.” The singer knows that he can do nothing against this disease, apart from being very careful in his daily life.
“Yes, it’s a difficult plan because you don’t choose it and you don’t know how the wheel will turn”he declared before specifying: “But I am still part of the lucky category in my misfortune. I have a lot of friends who went through that and who are no longer here today.”
Florent Pagny took some time to rest and is now ready to return. In a few months, TF1 viewers will be able to find him in the show
The Voice . After a notable absence, the coach will find his emblematic red chair. “Only fools don't change their minds. My friends from “The Voice” called me, and it wasn’t that stupid of them.” he declared. Concerning his musical career, he is also ready to find his audience again. “And, the following year, I will do my 65th anniversary tour as planned, because the 60th anniversary tour, well, it collapsed,” he laughed.

When Florent Pagny expressed his health concerns, his fans became worried, also wondering if he was going to end his career.
“The only thing that would make me stop would be not being able to sing well anymore,” he said. Music is very important to Florent Pagny who will only stop when his voice no longer follows him. “I didn’t worry about that. I took care of the illness. But, very quickly, I found myself in the studio and I was even amazed because my voice was clearer,” he rejoiced before adding:
“So I sang pretty well.” Something to delight his fans who can't wait to see him again.
