This Saturday, November 23, the Star Academy will dedicate a special bonus in tribute to Grégory Lemarchal. Twenty years after its victory on the TF1 telecrochet, the show has thought big.
While this week of competition was placed under the sign of the “elders” of the castle, a great responsibility will fall on the students of the Star Academy. They will have to perform a song written by Grégory Lemarchal, but which he was never able to sing himself. A new title which was entrusted by the singer’s parents originally from Savoy to Quentin Mosimann, the winner of Star Ac 7.
A text written in the hospital, a month before his death
Entitled “Et si tu sens”, the title was set to Music by Davide Esposito, already composer of his hit “Ecris l’histoire”, and Quentin Mosimann who also added his voice to it. The song speaks openly about Grégory Lemarchal’s illness and his fight against cystic fibrosis.
Saturday November 16, Mosimann came to present his version to the apprentice singers of the Star Academy in the company of Lucie Bernardoni, this season’s coach. Also a finalist in season 4, won by Grégory, she explained the context of this text: “We talked about it quite a bit with Grégory’s parents, because we found it important that you know why he wrote this song and When. He wrote it on March 15, 2007, in the hospital.” The young star is then waiting for a lung transplant which will not happen. He died on April 30, a month later, at the age of 23.
Profits will be entirely donated to the Grégory Lemarchal association
At first listen, several students cry at the words of Grégory Lemarchal. We can hear some words: “When you still have the words you wanted to keep. You will cross the wall of water with your head down, your eyes closed. Ok, you still have the love that you receive at will. It’s hope every day that you want to give back. And if you feel, That the day is coming, That you can live again, tomorrow. You will be the only star, To see a horizon coming, For your future. And if you feel, That the day is coming, To repair you, it’s certain. »
The parents, Pierre and Laurence Lemarchal, wanted to say a few words to the students after this listening. “Grégory had written several texts, but since his departure, this is the first time that a text by Grégory, which was not sung by him, has been set to music and will be interpreted by you, the artists. »
The title “Et si tu sens” will therefore be performed this Saturday, November 23 during the prime on TF1. It will arrive the same evening on streaming platforms and the profits will be entirely donated to the Grégory Lemarchal association.
