NewJeans members are demanding change within HYBE and ADOR.
According to the media Yonhap News, NewJeans submitted a content certificate to ADOR on November 13, 2024. In the certificate, it is notably specified that “If the company does not accept their requests, their exclusivity contract will be terminated. »
In South Korea, a certificate of contents is commonly used in Korea for notification of contract terminations. This is an official certified document containing requests and statements with a deadline for implementing these changes.
The document was sent by the girlgroup members to ADOR and HYBE using their full names: Kim Minji, Hanni Pham, Danielle Marsh, Kang Haerin, and Lee Hyein. According to the document, ADOR now has 14 days to rectify the things requested by the girls.
Part of the document discusses recently revealed internal HYBE documents which contained plans and negative opinions about NewJeans.
In part of the document revealed by the media, we can read:
“Title: Request for rectification of violations of the exclusivity contract.
1. We wish the development of ADOR. The members of the NewJeans group of ADOR, consisting of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein (hereinafter called NewJeans), request that ADOR rectify the violations of the exclusivity contract and that, through this document, the opinions of NewJeans as set forth below are made public. We hope that ADOR will rectify all violations mentioned within 14 days of receipt of this document.
2. The significant parts of the violations committed by ADOR with regard to the exclusivity contract have been summarized as follows.
A. We hope that as NewJeans management, appropriate action will be taken against HYBE's decision to “throw out NewJeans and start over with something new.” » Recently, through audit, it was confirmed that HYBE's internal report contained a statement that they “had seen “New-I-LE” (NewJeans ILLIT LE SSERAFIM) appear for a few days, but that they could get rid of “New” and start again with something new…”
