The mother of Lulu, their son, was invited to the set of C to you to present this book. Étienne Daho gives Bambou a nice surprise in C à Vous and shares an amusing anecdote about Serge Gainsbourg
During the show, Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine announces to Bambou that a message is sent to him by Étienne Daho, close friend of Serge Gainsbourg and Françoise Hardy. The artist recalls a dinner which, according to him, took an unexpected turn. “I remember that you and Françoise invited me to the restaurant. You were angry with Serge, and Françoise (Hardy, ndlr) with Jacques (Dutronc, editor’s note). You were very worried because you couldn’t get any news from Serge. I was trying to reassure you by telling you that he was probably with the guys from the local police station. So we cut dinner short” he says in the recording. He continues by describing the chaotic end of the evening: “We ended up at Serge’s, which was a little hot. He had some kind of seizure. He was pretty bad. Françoise and I didn’t sleep all night. It seems that the next day, Serge woke up whistling Claude François, Alexandrie Alexandra. He was all perky. Do you remember that?” Faced with this anecdote, Bambou – real name Caroline Elisabeth Paulus – smiles and confirms: “I remember that. I kept watch over Serge all night because I was worried. He had drunk too much.”
Bambou looks back on his surprising meeting with Serge Gainsbourg
Returning to her first meeting with the singer, the model also shares on set this meeting which marked the beginning of their relationship. In 1980, in a nightclub, Serge Gainsbourg, true to himself, approached her in a unique way. Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine evokes this moment: “He loved to make you laugh. And it was because he made you laugh in a nightclub that you fell under his spell.” Bambou then remembers their first exchanges: “Yes, absolutely. By calling me a sausage!“It must be said that for his part, Bambou did not mince his words either. As Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine points out, she herself had first described him as “old fart“for his clumsy attempts to get his attention.”It was legal” concludes the mother of Lulu Gainsbourg born from her union with the singer.
