Guest of M Radio for the podcast “Face Cachée”, the singer spoke about his paternity.
While Kendji Girac just released his new album Vivre on October 4, 2024, the artist revealed by The Voice talks about his daily life as a dad. As part of the podcast M Radio “Face Cachée” hosted by Isabelle GiamiKendji shares his thoughts on fatherhood and the impact it has had on his life as an artist. CIt is also an opportunity for him to discuss his daughter’s relationship with music, family life and the values that are close to her heart.
Life as an artist and life as a dad
Kendji often finds himself torn between his obligations as a singer and his role as a father. He says:
“Between two three concerts when I can go homeI enjoy with my little one princess and the family. Otherwise, my daughter and my wife come with me.”
However, the moments spent together are not always easy to organize, and the singer often has to adapt:
“Otherwise, we do a lot of Facetime. I often go home to enjoy my princesses.”
His life as an artist and his role as a father are therefore intimately intertwined, with constant adjustments to ensure presence and proximity.
Dad’s life, a real upheaval
At only three and a half years old, Kendji’s daughter is already beginning to perceive her father’s popularity:
“She’s starting to see me TVthe next concert she’s going to experience it, she’s going to wonder why dad is on stage and so many people love him. I can’t wait to see that,” he says enthusiastically.
A moment of wonder for this little girl who, as she grew up, little by little discovers the world of the stage and his father’s success.
As one might expect, the little one is already very close to the musique. Kendji says:
“She loves music, she has her little guitar and her little one pianoshe hums, but she will do what she wants.”
If his father’s passion inspires him, Kendji remains clear: he wants to give him the freedom to choose his own path.
Fatherhood is for Kendji an inexhaustible source of happiness and emotions:
“To have his end of oneselfthis added a ball of love in the family.”
This experience allowed him to redefine his priorities and appreciate life even more, a change that is reflected in his attitude and in his new songs.
Like any parent, Kendji also has his little rituals with his daughter.
“She’s 3 and a half years old, she loves itécoleI drop it off, I do a few autographs, I spend a little time so as not to make anyone disappointed but they still have to respect my moments in family.”
A delicate balance to find between fame and intimate moments. And he admits, a little amused:
“With me, my daughter knows she can scratch more thingssince I say more oui to everything.”
With fatherhood, Kendji Girac has developed a new philosophy of life, simple and full of gratitude. An attitude that he wants to transmit to his “princess”:
“It’s necessary savor every momentto be aware of the smallest thing that we have around us: to eat, to drink, to have a toitto have a healthy family. It’s very important to realize that.”
Kendji also highlights luck to live in France, where, according to him, we benefit from support in difficult times.
With this testimony, Kendji Girac shows us a sensitive and human side of his personality, marked by strong values and unconditional love for his family. More than a successful singer, above all, he is a happy father, aware of how lucky he is to be surrounded by his “princesses”.
