Almost three weeks after his death, the body of Liam Payne will be returned to his family, police sources told the American channel ABC News. According to them, the prosecutor gave his agreement for the body of the British singer to be handed over to his father Geoff Payne.

The body of Liam Payne will be repatriated to the United Kingdom “at the latest” on Monday, with a view to his funeral planned for next week, according to the Argentine newspaper La Nacion.

His father present in Buenos Aires

According to officials at the British Embassy in Buenos Aires, the artist's father has been in the Argentine capital since October 18, where he was trying to repatriate his son's body for burial in England, from where he originates. But this was not previously possible pending the court's findings in the criminal case.

The pop star died at the age of 31 after falling from her hotel balcony, following “multiple trauma” and “internal and external bleeding”. Preliminary autopsy results determined that he was alone at the time of the tragedy and that he was going through “some sort of crisis due to substance abuse,” according to the prosecutor's office. The singer's autopsy revealed the presence of numerous drugs, including “pink cocaine“, in his body.
