The ADISQ gala, which will once again celebrate the excellence of Quebec music this year, will take place on Sunday. Around ten prizes will be awarded to the artists who gave us such a great musical year and the talent of many of them will be showcased through live performances.

Quoi ? Ten Félix trophies will be awarded during this 46e gala, hosted for the first time by comedian Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais.

Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais is in charge of ADISQ.
After 18 years at the helm of animation, Louis-José Houde decided to leave his place to someone else. And it is the excellent Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais who succeeds him. He will host the gala for the very first time and many people will pay particular attention to his performance. We can’t wait to see what tone Roy-Desmarais will adopt and we expect a ceremony conducted with a lot of humor, as tradition dictates. ADISQ is also an opportunity to see our favorite artists honored and to see several of them perform during the ceremony.

With three Félixes each already in their pocket, received during the first two galas last Wednesday, Les Cowboys Fringants and Karkwa are leading the race for the moment. Louis-Jean Cormier’s band is nominated this year in eleven categories, while Karl Tremblay’s posthumous album, Pub Royalearns seven citations to the Cowboys. Elisapie also appears in seven categories and she already won the Félix for album of the year in the Reinterpretation category on Wednesday. On Sunday, Charlotte Cardin, already a two-time winner, could win in the International Outreach category, where her lover Alyocha Schneider is also there, as are Elisapie, Moonshine and Alexandra Stréliski. The latter could also be crowned female artist of the year once again. This time she faces Ingrid St-Pierre, Isabelle Boulay, Roxane Bruneau and Sara Dufour. Bruno Pelletier, Daniel Bélanger, FouKi, Ludovick Bourgeois and Souldia are nominated for the male counterpart in this category.

Arielle Soucy, BARNEV, Émile Bourgault, Rau_Ze and Sophie Grenier. If you don’t yet know these artists, ADISQ is committed to highlighting them, with the Revelation of the Year category, which also allows all nominees to present a group number during the gala. Ranging from song to folk to R&B (Rau_Ze won the first Félix awarded in this category introduced this year on Tuesday), emerging artists have a lot to offer.

The artists in the Revelations category, each year, are entitled to a number of their own, where they each have the chance to make themselves known to a wider audience. But they are of course not the only ones to entertain the three-hour evening with music. This year, Alyocha Schneider, Elisapie, Half Moon Run, Isabelle Boulay, Karkwa, Les Trois Accords, the cast of Pub RoyalRoxane Bruneau, Souldia and Roch Voisine will take the stage of Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier to present their recent successes between the award ceremonies.
