“It can come back”, the singer remains lucid and doubts the future with the illness

While Julien Doré, Louane and Clara Luciani are back in stores with each a new album, respectively; Florent Pagny arrives in booksellers. A little over a year after the release of his autobiography Pagny by Florent which had aroused a certain enthusiasm among readers, the interpreter of Anything announces the release on November 6 of a photo book designed with his daughter AëlInca's little sister. Pagny by Aël is the expression in images of the last two years while the artist had to fight against illness. We remember Florent Pagny's poignant message on social networks during the winter of 2022: he announced that he was suffering from lung cancer and that he was then forced to cancel his 60th anniversary tour which he had to ensure immediately.

As Céline Dion, then affected by a rare genetic disease, did with her documentary I Amunveiled in June on Prime Video, Florent Pagny pushes the doors of his intimacy with this book and invites us to discover the daily life of a suffering but combative father, he who despite everything published during the period an album of duets around of his greatest hits and performed some concerts during the summer festivals in 2023.

If he is today on the road to recovery, the artist who took refuge in Patagonia for several months nevertheless remains lucid about the future. It could come back”he says. Especially since he has already faced two recurrences which have had a profound impact on him. “I've had it three times. He left for the first time. So there, we say to ourselves: 'It's okay, it's over, life will resume peacefully. Besides, my hair has grown back. Well ! no, he reappeared. We had to go back to chemo. It wasn't funny. My kids lived this story with me“he wants to emphasize.

He is joined by his daughter Aël, aged 25, also interviewed by our colleagues. “Even if there are no more cancer cells, we also know that it can come back in three months”she adds in turn, before remembering the painful moments that the whole family had actually had to endure as well. She first remembered “the day” where his father discovered his illness. “I was leaving for Argentina and Inca joined me two weeks later. We didn't know what to do anymore“she admits, before talking about their reunion in Paris some time later: “When we returned, dad had no more hair. We were used to his changes in appearance, but this was different. He didn’t choose that one… Afterwards, we didn’t let go of each other.”.

Ce comeback by Florent Pagny will also be done in Music since he is currently preparing a collegiate title for the attention of Paul Watsonthis environmental activist arrested last summer with a view to possibly being extradited to Japan where he could be tried in a case between the association he created (Sea Shepherds) and an altercation with whale fishermen there a few years ago. In the event of a trial, the activist could be imprisoned, and this is why Florent Pagny, touched by his fate, decided to bring together several artists around him to raise awareness among the population about his action and demand justice. Véronique Sanson, Anne Sila and Cali have already responded to her invitation.

On the other hand, there is currently no indication that Florent Pagny has returned to the studio with a view to recording new, more personal pieces. His latest disc of original titles called The future dates from 2021, and was able to count on the collaborations of Calogero, Carla Bruni, Barbara Pravi and even Julien Clerc.
