Hoshi: I don’t hope for anything anymore

“Love stories usually end badly,” sang Rita Mitsouko in the 1980s. That of Hoshi and Gia Martinelli will not have made this refrain lie. Guest of Bernard Montiel, Saturday October 26, 2024 on RFM, the singer spoke frankly about her unhappiness after her recent separation from her partner. The two young women had been a couple for seven years.

“It’s not going well at all,” she confided to the host who told her he was worried about her after hearing the singer’s new single, “Are you going to leave me for much longer?”, released on the 17th. October and inspired by his breakup. “Actually, I decided to be super honest. In reality, it’s not okay and that’s why I’m releasing this title. (…) I needed to free myself from all that,” she explained, specifying that the separation occurred last summer.

The announcement of the end of their love story was made by Gia Martinelli herself on October 20 on Instagram. “I want to remind you that a breakup is always a difficult time and it is for both people involved. We are just human beings going through a very trying time. I wish us to find peace separately,” she wrote on the social network.

During the interview, the 28-year-old Frenchwoman, who will be in concert on November 27 at the Geneva Arena, spoke of the pain of having to give up the maternity plans she had with Gia. “I had the first names, indeed, and that’s the real story, I’m not lying,” she said. And to continue, disillusioned but with still a touch of hope: “I no longer hope for anything, I hope to rebuild myself and sing this song to rebuild myself. I never close the door on love, anyway.”
