Aya Nakamura becomes the first French woman to have her own Bratz doll

An additional sign, if one were needed, of the importance that the singer of “Djadja” is taking on the international scene. The famous doll company shared last Wednesday on its Instagram account a new model in the image of the French star Aya Nakamura.

As a sign of her global influence, the 29-year-old singer thus becomes the first French personality to benefit from this honor from Bratz, which regularly delights by posting dolls representing pop culture icons. In recent weeks, Jenna Ortega and Doja Cat have been granted this honor.

Aya Nakamura’s doll is inspired by the French singer’s appearance on the Met Gala red carpet last May. For the occasion, the designer recreated the crystal-encrusted Balmain dress worn by the artist. Designed by Olivier Rousteing, the piece featured floral designs, leaf and rose effects, since the theme of the evening was “The Garden of Time (The Garden of Time) ».

Aya Nakamura, crowned female artist at the last Victoires de la Musique, released her fourth album, “DNK”, last year. She is also the most listened to female artist in in 2023, according to Spotify, and the only woman in the top 20 best-selling albums in France last year, according to the Syndicat national de l’édition phonographique (Snep). And the silver, gold, platinum and diamond records are pouring in.

During the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, her performance on the Pont des Arts in collaboration with the Republican Guard was praised by the public, despite the controversies surrounding her participation. The creation of her Bratz doll is also, in a way, a recognition of her undeniable musical talent as well as her societal influence.
