???? Maestro, in partnership with Arte:

A prominent figure of post-Romanticism, the Austrian composer and organist Anton Bruckner (1824-1896) is considered the greatest symphonist since Beethoven. Who better to pay tribute to him than Herbert Blomstedt ? No one has focused more intensely on Bruckner than the conductor. At 97 years old, the oldest of the world’s great maestros passionately conducts the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra – a phalanx that has seen many famous “Brucknerian” batons take turns – for a very accurate performance of Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Bruckner’s last work, which remained unfinished. An anniversary concert that takes place in the splendid baroque abbey of St. Florian, in Austria, where Anton Bruckner’s musical career began.

Sunday September 8 at 6:25 p.m. on ARTE on arteconcert.com until December 7.
