Despite the refusal, Thomas Jolly still chose to pay tribute to Mylène Farmer during the opening ceremony. Indeed, in one of the tables devoted to dance, viewers were able to hear a 1991 remix of one of the singer's most popular songs: Disenchanted.
Mylène Farmer does not seem to be an isolated case in these approaches. The singer Gims had in fact revealed in an interview given to Cinema TV having refused to participate in the opening ceremony. « I could have done it, but it wasn't my will », he explained, before adding that he could not « not be everywhere ».
After the refusals, the disappointments. On social networks, many singers did not hide their disappointment at not having received proposals from the director.
