Ariana Grande and Paul Mescal were brought together by Variety to discuss their lives as artists and actors. Both stars are in the news for the recent release of their films, ‘Wicked’ and ‘Gladiator II’ respectively.

Gathered by Variety, the two actors were complicit and curious about each other, and Paul Mescal and Ariana Grande had a lot to say to each other, from their complicity as actors to the release date of their film, through their relationship to Music.
Ariana Grande, “addict to musicals”
Ariana Grande was quick to tell Paul Mescal that she had “seen him singing on YouTube…”. Faced with laughter from Paul Mescal, she added: “I have to start there because I am addicted to musicals and I saw you in “Les Misérables” (produced by the Meath Younth Musical Society’s production). I’m very excited about it because it was very good and I saw that you were also doing “Merrily We Roll Along” (expected in 2025) and I think that’s cool!”
Compliments paid by Paul Mescal, who began his exchange with the American singer and actress by asking her: “you were superb in the film (“Wicked”)… But beyond that, what can’t you do it?” The Irish actor added that he considered the 31-year-old Floridian to be “one of the most talented people on the planet”.
The two celebrities discussed many subjects, giving rise to numerous exchanges which panicked social networks and delighted fans. They notably noted their main point in common: the release date of their latest film. Indeed, the first part of “Wicked” and the sequel to “Gladiator” were released in theaters on November 22, 2024 in the United States. A double presentation which is nicknamed “Glicked” by the duo.
The two artists deciphered their performances in more depth in these two feature films. They also talked about their favorite cinema classics, their inspirations as actors, life outside of filming, such as in media promotion, etc.
One of the last subjects addressed by the two actors is their first relationship with the world of comedy. Paul Mescal reveals in particular that he perceived his talent for cinema during his first opera experiences and that he has never found such adrenaline in another field.
