Dani Filth, the singer of Cradle Of Filth, did not mince his words when discussing the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) in Music. During an interview with Metal Journalhe expressed concerns about the impact of this technology on human creativity and spirituality.
“AI is a threat” according to Dani Filth
During the exchange, Dani Filth shared a disturbing personal experience: “A friend showed me a program that could create an entire song in five minutes: lyrics, music, visuals… everything was there. But the problem is that it’s soulless.”
The singer believes that AI, by simplifying and accelerating artistic creation, devalues the work of artists who devote years to composing, recording and producing. “This will not only affect the entertainment industry, but every aspect of our lives as soon as it is coupled with physical robots,” he added.
While recognizing certain practical advantages, such as helping people with disabilities or simplifying complex tasks, Dani insists on the loss of a spiritual dimension. “AI makes people lazy. It removes the deep connection we had while searching for an album or growing up with a band that shaped our lives.”

Cradle Of Filth: an ongoing evolution

Their new album, scheduled for spring 2025 via Napalm Records, was introduced by the single Malignant Perfection. Dani describes this new work as a natural evolution of the group: “It combines early atmospheric elements with modern sounds. It’s a logical step for us.”
Last year, the group also made an impression with the release of Trouble And Their Double Liveshis first live album in over 20 years. Recorded between 2014 and 2019, it brings together classics from the group as well as unreleased tracks like She Is A Fire et Demon Prince Regent.
