A clip that was already causing a scandal in 2016
The anger of « Swifties » is all the stronger as the American weekly had just named Taylor Swift as the second biggest pop star of the 21st century, in one of its annual rankings. And it is to highlight the singer’s impressive career that the magazine chose to publish this clip.
Already when it was released in 2016, the single Famous of Kanye West, targeted by a complaint for sexual assault, had created unease. In the clip, we fly over a gigantic bed in which the American singer rests surrounded by his wife Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Caitlyn Jenner, Amber Rose, Anna Wintour, Ray J, Bill Cosby, Donald Trump and George Bush. All naked.
While the lyrics, aimed at Taylor Swift, are insulting and misogynistic: “ I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous.” The singer condemned these comments and expressed her strong anger towards the controversial rapper.
