Mnet is preparing the new season of BOYS PLANET!
On November 26, CJ ENM confirmed that the second season of the survival show “BOYS PLANET” would be titled “BOYS II PLANET”, and a teaser video was released online.
“BOYS II PLANET” will revolutionize the genre by being available in two separate shows which will take place simultaneously and which will come together. It will indeed be two separate survival films produced and broadcast simultaneously in two different languages, following the same format and the same concept. “BOYS II PLANET” will be KPOP’s first-ever survival sister project, and both winning groups will debut at the same time.
The two shows will be “BOYS II PLANET K” and “BOYS II PLANET C,” produced in Korea and China, respectively. Kim Shin Young explained that the project is based on a “multiverse” concept, explaining:
“Although the format has unlimited global potential, we chose Chinese, which is spoken by approximately 1.5 billion people worldwide, for our first attempt. »
The production team expressed:
“It will be a journey to discover raw talent from all over the world, regardless of their nationality. We hope that viewers will eagerly follow the first steps of the K-POP sister project to see what the two groups, formed through different programs within the same universe, will look like and what kind of synergy they will create when they will come together to form a single group. »
The broadcasts will therefore allow the creation of two groups, two groups which will begin at the same time and which can then join together to form a single complete group. The closest example for those looking to understand it would probably be EXO in its early days, with the units EXO-M and EXO-K, which were all together within EXO.
Candidates who register to participate in “BOYS II PLANET” can also choose between the 'K' and 'C' programs when applying. Any boy born before January 1, 2012, regardless of his nationality, can apply. The application period runs from November 22 to January 26, 2025.
