For almost two minutes, he shows his entire quarters, made up of two mini-fridges, each filled to the brim, as are his shelves where dozens of cans of food, drinks, condiments, etc. are placed. On a table, two croissants and sodas. The singer has set up a bathroom area on the other side of the cell, where we can also see dozens of shower gels and shampoo, a saucepan, moisturizing cream… A laptop is also placed on a chair.

The video, widely shared on social networks, aroused the anger of certain Internet users, who wondered if Koba LaD's cell was not a “hotel room”. “Is this also the case in other prisons?”asks another Twitter user, who mentions the account of the Ministry of Justice. Some people even wonder if the rapper doesn't have “privileges” because of his notoriety.
In a publication, the union of internal security executives (SCSI) protests the video. “Rapper Koba LaD is currently in prison after causing a fatal accident while under the influence of drugs. He quietly films his little apartment… sorry his cell! Do you think this is normal?”he questions.
Koba LaD, whose real name is Marcel Junior Loutarila, was indicted and imprisoned on September 14 for aggravated manslaughter and aggravated involuntary injuries, after hitting a heavy goods vehicle on an exit ramp from a gas station on the A86 motorway. The passenger in the vehicle, a friend, was killed. He had already been convicted in 2020 for causing a road accident in Marseille. Last Wednesday, September 25, the 24-year-old artist was also sentenced to two years in prison, one of which was closed, after a fight in a nightclub.
