Saturday evening, the atmosphere was electric at the Zénith, packed to the brim to welcome Patrick Flowersone of the biggest names in Corsican Music. The crowd was as varied as it was enthusiastic, and among them, Jeanninea loyal fan, did not hesitate to share her love for the singer: “I love his voice.” And frankly, who could blame him? The voice of fiftieth anniversaryremained intact
since its beginnings in Notre-Dame of Parishas lost none of its power! To the greatest pleasure of the public, the artist offered a very gentle version of Bellefar from the spotlight, in intimate mode around a fire, accompanied by an accordion and an acoustic guitar. A moment of pure magic that warmed hearts and proved that, like good wine, the voice of coach de The Voice only gets better with time.
Patrick Fiori on a minimalist stage
Saturday evening, Patrick Fiori entered the stage in an original way: in a cube. The singer starts strong with the song “The singing is free“, quite a program! A title which sums up his state of mind well, he who fully enjoys
this freedom to sing and sharewith even a few dance steps as a bonus. The refined staging emphasizes the essential, and only three musicians (and singers on “How beautiful we were“) accompany him. With “The people we love“, the ex-companion of Lara Fabian electrifies the public, whose groupies do not take long to stand up.
Furthermore, between confidences and music, Patrick Fiori gives us an intimate show, covering classics like “Four words on a piano” et “I'm going“. He even takes a trip into the pit to sing with the public, despite some friction with security. Of course, he does not forget his Corsican rootss, calling on Frank
Castellano for a beautiful interpretation of “Corsica” et “Corsican land“. Music brings people together, and that's exactly what it does!
“I’m going there”, quite a genesis!
Patrick Fiori shared with humor behind the scenes of the creation of “I'm going“, his famous duet with Florent Pagnya hit that was a hit in 2020. If you would have thought that it was done with your fingers in your nose, that is not the case. The two friends, although very close, had difficulty settling down to record the song. “He’s hard to catch, Florent! (Laughs)“, confides the singer. And yet, he did not let himself be discouraged. “I am very patient”he admits, because he was convinced that one day they would record something together.
He kept telling her: “One day we'll have to carve a song in stone.“No question of settling for a duo for TV!”I wanted to sing with him, already because I really like it. He's really someone… I'm not going to say the word fan, but we're not far from it.“But the mission turned out to be more complex than expected. Florent Pagnyalways between Patagonia, Portugal or France, was not easy to reach. “Once I had it in my hands, I managed, and believe me it's not an easy task, to catch him on the phone“, says the 55-year-old singer.
Patrick Fiori and Florent Pagny, an emblematic duo
Once Patrick Fiori presented his project to Florent Pagny, things accelerated at breakneck speed. Usually, the interpreter of “Know how to love“ takes his time to think, but then, barely five minutes later, he calls back the native of Marseille to tell him: “I'm going there. I'm going with you.”
“When you love, you don't count!” remarks Patrick, happy that their duo has finally seen the light of day after years of waiting. “I haven't counted the years“, he admits, while emphasizing that this duo has real sincerity. “There can be no competition” between them, and people feel that in this song.
And the result is there: this piece recorded together is
one of the most popular songs on the album. The duo was able to capture a unique energy and an obvious complicity, and this did not escape the fans. The handsome brunette adds: “People don't always manage to explain things, but in this piece, I think they feel the desire and the pleasure we take in singing together.“That says it all!
