Primus is launching open auditions to find its new drummer.
A unique opportunity for musicians
Primus, the emblematic experimental rock group, has just launched open auditions to fill the position of drummer, left vacant following the departure of Tim Alexander for personal reasons. As the band prepares for a 2025 tour alongside Puscifer and A Perfect Circle, they are looking for a talented and creative musician to accompany them on stage.
In a statement on their social networks, the members of Primus clarified their expectations: “We are looking for a caring and friendly person, with an original sensitivity and aesthetic, and eager to open new doors in the creative world.”

Criteria for participating
Interested candidates are invited to submit their application by email to [email protected]. This should include a Music CV and a recent video of one of their performances.
Primus emphasized that while technical skills are important, they are not the only criterion: “Awesome chops are great, but the ability to find the groove, listen, respond and contribute to the musical conversation is essential.”
A promising future for Primus
Despite this change in line-up, Primus is resolutely focused on the future. His 2025 tour, with Puscifer and A Perfect Circle, is already shaping up to be an unmissable event for fans of alternative rock. In addition to this series of concerts, the search for a new drummer could open a new era for the group, marked by new influences and renewed energy.
