Last Saturday June 15, Johnny Hallyday would have celebrated his 81st birthday. The singer died of lung cancer at the age of 74. Nearly seven years after his death, his son, David Hallyday pays tribute to him in his new album Requiem for a fool released this Friday June 21. “For me, this project is very important, because it partly affects in my father’s cataloga catalog of more than fifty years… I first started by re-recording my own songs from the 80s, because I found that they had aged a little badly, in terms of production”, declared the 57-year-old singer in an interview with 7 Days TV this Monday, June 17.

Asked if he would like them to listen to his tribute album to their father Johnny, the singer answered honestly: Yes, if they want to, we can’t force people. If it’s something they’re interested in, sure.
