Powerwolf releases new single, Sinners Of The Seven Seas, ahead of upcoming album

Powerwolf have just released the second single from their highly anticipated album Wake Up The Wicked, scheduled for release on July 26, 2024, via Napalm Records. The new track, Sinners Of The Seven Seas, promises a journey through time aboard a Renaissance ship, immersing listeners in a thrilling tale of nautical adventure.

The music video for Sinners Of The Seven Seas was filmed on a replica of a 16th century three-masted ship, which was part of Magellan’s fleet, and features stunning locations in the south of France and Switzerland. This historical backdrop has already been used in numerous films and series, adding a cinematic touch to Powerwolf’s latest visual production.

The band, known for their dramatic stories and grandiose soundscapes, set the stage for their new album with Sinners Of The Seven Seas and the earlier-released single 1589. This last title evokes the chilling story of Peter Stump, the “werewolf of Bedburg”, executed in 1589 after confessing to several murders under torture. This morbid story, set in the dark woods of England for the video, represents the group’s most elaborate production to date.

Wake Up The Wicked marks a milestone in Powerwolf’s career, celebrating their 20th anniversary with a blend of their signature sound and new musical explorations. Produced by Joost van den Broek at Sandlane Recording Facilities, the album aims to add numerous live hits to their already impressive discography.

Powerwolf will accompany their new album with a long tour. The band will embark on their first-ever North American tour in August 2024, followed by their largest European headlining tour to date.
