Is the Wall from the first episode the same as in Game of Thrones? Harry Collett (Jacaerys) returns to this stage in an “iconic” location

Since Monday June 17, the brand new Max platform has been offering the first episode of the new season 2 of House of the Dragon. This return of the series derived from Game Of Thrones opens on a mythical place for fans of the world of George RR Martin.

Since Monday June 17, you can discover on the platform Max the first new episode of season 2 of House of the Dragon. Beyond its dramatic ending with the gruesome death of a character involving Helaena (Phia Saban), this episode offers a nostalgic opening for fans of Game Of Thrones. Indeed, at the end of season 1 of House of the Dragonyoung Jacaerys, son of Rhaenyra, was sent by his mother as an emissary to several great families to plead the cause of the Black camp, opposed to the Greens (King Aegon, his mother Alicent etc.).

House of the Dragon : episode 1 of season 2 opens on the Wall!

In the first episode of season 2 of House of the Dragon, Jacaerys (Harry Collett) therefore goes to the North to speak with the Stark family, and more particularly Cregan (Tom Taylor). The two young men go to the famous Wall protecting Westeros from the terrible (we will learn much later!) White Walkers who prowl on the other side. During a press conference, Harry Collett told us: “Tom Taylor and I really wanted the scenes at Winterfell and the Wall to be done right, because they are such iconic locations. It’s so iconic for Game of Thrones fans to look back on. We wanted it to be as faithful a good time as possible for all the fans to enjoy. For me, it had a rather unreal aspect to find myself in these cult settings. Jacaerys and Cregan have a pretty cool relationship“.

House of the Dragon : who is Cregan Stark?

In the mythology created by George RR Martin, the character of Cregan Stark is therefore an ancestor of Eddard (Ned for short) Stark, a major character in Game Of Thrones. To give you an idea, Cregan was born in the year 108, while Ned was born in 263. He is therefore the great-great-great-great grandfather of Ned Stark. Cregan became lord of Winterfell at a very young age, upon the death of his father in 121. The meeting between Jacaerys and him took place eight years later. During his life, Cregan had three wives, Arra Norroit, Alysanne Nerbosc and Lynara Stark, who bore him ten children.
