Julien Doré has just released his album “Imposteur”, composed of covers of emblematic titles which were important in his life and his career, from “Moi Lolita” to “Alle les femmes de ta vie”, including “Die on stage” , “Pourvu qu’elles sont sont sont deux”, “Pull marine” or even “Les yeux de la mama”, in homage to the death of his mother. “ At the beginning, when I explained this to those around me, it’s true that it’s funny but I needed to develop the why of my desire. But guys, I see this project like I see my albums of original songs. I’m going to make clips that I love, I’m going to take care of my visuals, I’m going to work like crazy in the same way. It’s not a side project In my opinion. It’s a real album » underlines the artist in an interview with Purecharts, highlighting “ fun » et « desire » behind this astonishing project.

“I still feel a little embarrassed”
On “Imposteur”, Julien Doré also shares three duets with three illustrious artists: Francis Cabrel, Hélène Ségara and Sharon Stone! And, this time, the artist did not feel the imposture artistically but in terms of styling, since he shared a session with the cinema icon… in jogging pants and sock slides. “ With my friend Brice, we said to ourselves that it would be good that perhaps, when we have guests, there would be some consistency in my styling. I wore these jogging pants and we had quite a few images with them. (…) So I did it again! You still find yourself in quite flexible jogging pants, blue, quite shiny, and with just a pair of flip-flops and your poor socks, finding yourself in Berlin with Sharon Stone… She arrives and she has this elegance… » tells us the singer, still surprised by the situation: “ Even if I’m calm about what I’m proposing to do artistically and there’s no imposture in it, damn it was still necessary for the imposture to be put into the styling and I still feel a little embarrassed ».
With Sharon Stone, Julien Doré therefore covers “Paroles, mots” by Dalida and Alain Delon, each interpreting the parts of the opposite sex. “ I wrote to her and she answered me straight away. She was very enthusiastic » recently explained the singer, who left to join her in Berlin for this duet event. But their first meeting dates back to 2009, during an evening at the Cannes festival where he performed live. “ Nobody listened to me. Then there was a commotion: Sharon Stone came, she sat next to me and she listened to me. Lots of people came then. In the end, we had to exchange two sentences. Since then, we’ve sent each other three messages on Instagram » said Julien Doré, still in shock from this surprise collaboration.
