Better known for being the daughter of an icon of French song, Aël Pagny comes out of anonymity for the first time to present his first photography book, entitled “Pagny par Aël”. It was in the fall of 2021 that the project began to come to fruition, when she decided to follow Florent Pagny and to document his 60th anniversary tour. “It seemed obvious to us that I would accompany him, plus I love going on tour. Like I’ve been doing since I was little. » she confides to Audrey Crespo-Mara, in the Portrait of the week of “Sept à Huit”, which will be broadcast this Sunday, November 3, at 7:20 p.m. on TF1.

A few months later, the singer was diagnosed with lung cancer, which he decided to announce publicly in January 2022. However, the father-daughter duo decided to continue their project and Aël clarified that she never thought about Stop. “I didn’t let go of my camera, but I didn’t take it at its worst either. » she says. She describes in particular a photo chosen for the book, on which the interpreter of “Knowing how to love” appears in the middle of a radiotherapy session. “It was his last radiotherapy session. It was quite a happy moment, because we said OK. (…) Fingers crossed, we hope there won’t be any more. » she explains.

The 25-year-old photographer, who trained at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York, also spoke in the pages of Le Parisien, where she notably recalled the day when she learned of the famous diagnosis which put the entire family’s life on hold. “I learned about it when I was flying back to Argentina. I wondered about staying, but mom was with him. I said to myself ‘he has his other half with him’, it’s good. I will be more useful in managing our farm in Argentina. » she relates in the pages of the French newspaper.
