Apple presents The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill as follows :

Lauryn Hill’s first — and only — solo studio album was a seismic event in 1998: a surprisingly raw and profound look into the spiritual landscape of not only one of the era’s biggest stars, but of the era she -even. She was, and remains, a unique talent whose inspiration and innovation can be heard across the decades. Artists exhaust long discographies in the hope of finding a work coherent enough to reshape culture and inscribe its creator in the pantheon; Lauryn Hill did it in one go.

For the occasion, Lauryn Hill received a trophy which is made of sandblasted anodized aluminum, coming entirely from recycled Apple products.

How was this list of the 100 best albums determined? Apple Music employees compiled the rankings using artists including Maren Morris, Pharrell Williams, J Balvin, Charli XCX, Mark Hoppus, Honey Dijon and Nia Archives. Songwriters, producers and industry professionals also participated.
