TVA Nouvelles will offer an improved format starting May 21 with new regional bulletins for Saguenay−Lac-Saint-Jean, Est-du-Québec, Trois-Rivières and Sherbrooke.

“Despite the difficult context facing the media industry, this new formula allows us to strengthen the presence of journalists on the ground for each of our regions and thus [de] continue to offer quality coverage throughout Quebec, on TV and on all our platforms,” underlined Xavier Brassard-Bédard, general director and editor-in-chief of the news room at TVA.

For each of these four bulletins, Andrée Martin will take the helm of TVA Nouvelles 6 p.m., Monday to Friday at 5:58 p.m. She will be accompanied by a team of six journalists per region.

“Cumulating nearly twenty years of experience,” Andrée Martin “hosted the weekend newscasts of the national capital for several years and the TVA network bulletins for two years. Well known to the public, she was the ideal candidate to take on this new challenge,” he added.

TVA Group has made the decision to add two additional journalists per region in order to better meet the needs to offer coverage reflecting local realities and issues, said the press release published Friday.

It is also planned that in the long term, a new team from TVA Québec will ensure the recording of news bulletins from all regional branches.
