“I didn’t see it coming but…”: Léa Salamé blown away by a response from Sylvie Vartan in the middle of an interview on France Inter

During his interview on InterSylvie Vartan has surprised Léa Salamé with a powerful response. The 80-year-old singer bows out on stage next January, at the Palais des Congrès.

Sylvie Vartan did not fail to confide in her son, David Hallyday, fruit of her love with the late singer Johnny Hallyday. “I didn’t want my son to be exposed all the time, it was complicated. I wanted to protect him.”

A disturbing response from Sylvie Vartan

During a game of questions at the start of the show, Sylvie Vartan revealed some surprising information: “If I were a book, I would think of Romain Gary’s Promise of Dawn, for so many reasons. Everything related to childhood has always upset me. I was lucky to have had dinner with Romain Gary.”

A historical character? “Eleanor of Aquitaine, she is an incredible woman. She was queen of two countries, France and England. She lived to be 80 years old.” But what most marked the presenter on France Interthis is the emotion evoked. “Without thinking, melancholy.” evokes Sylvie Vartan, before Léa Salamé cuts her off. “I didn’t see it coming but it’s surprising that you would say that. David Hallyday, your son, who was there a few months ago, spoke of his melancholy which comes from you.”

His end of career on stage at the Palais des Congrès

His final three concerts will take place at the Palais des Congrès in January 2025. “I am delighted to be back at the Palais des Congrès. I have wonderful memories there. It’s a room that brings me luck.” evokes the one whose singing career began at a very young age. “I started at 17, I don’t count anymore. It’s a respect from people, from the public. I want to be in full possession of what I do and present myself correctly.”

After these dates, Sylvie Vartan will enjoy her family.
Like my son, I also have paradoxes. I go from melancholy, which is in my genes, but at the same time I really like laughing and cheerfulness. I’m in the extremes. she explains before confiding on social networks like Instagram et TikTok :
“My grandchildren try to teach me. I also pay attention to what people say about me. It’s important that we tell the truth.”
