Slipknot releases brief statement to welcome new drummer Eloy Casagrande

In a brief announcement made via their social media channels on April 30, Slipknot officially introduced Eloy Casagrande, formerly of Sepultura, as their new drummer. While speculation was rife following Casagrande’s departure from Sepultura at the start of the year, Slipknot’s confirmation solidifies his position within the group.

Slipknot’s drummer change was initiated when the band parted ways with Jay Weinberg last November, sparking a series of changes across the heavy music landscape. Weinberg’s venture into Suicidal Tendencies’ side project, Infectious Grooves, started a domino effect that ultimately led to Casagrande’s recruitment by Slipknot.

Casagrande’s Slipknot debut took place at an intimate performance in Pioneertown, California, followed by an appearance at the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas this past weekend. His seamless integration into the group highlights his musical prowess and his willingness to assume the role of Slipknot’s drummer.

The band’s latest lineup, which now includes Casagrande, is gearing up for its 25th anniversary tour commemorating its self-titled album, planned throughout 2024 and early 2025.

French-speaking concerts (from the 25th anniversary tour):

  • December 11, 2024: Zurich, Switzerland: Hallenstadion
  • December 12, 2024: Paris, France: Accor Arena
