“She discovered it like you”: fans of Mylène Farmer furious with the singer, Pascal Nègre drops a bomb

Feder, The Avener, Killer, David Lynch… Mylène Farmer relied on rather unexpected names for Remix XL, his third remix album released on April 19. Unusual associations which seem to have seduced fans: the album ranks second in sales in , behind the unbeatable Taylor Swift and her latest album The Tortured Poets Department.

But it’s not this album that makes Mylène Farmer’s fans rise to the occasion. On June 7, a reissue of Moon Ashes, the singer’s first album. It will contain the album on CD as well as on red vinyl, exclusive 45s as well as instrumental versions of the album.

The price of a box set deemed indecent

Something that would normally delight Mylène Farmer’s admirers… except for one detail. The price ! To buy this exclusive box set, sold in a few hundred copies, you will have to pay the modest sum of… 192 euros !

A price that panics fans, deeming such a price indecent for a reissue as beautiful as it is. But Mylène Farmer has nothing to do with it and her manager Pascal Nègre was keen to make it known.

Mylène Farmer not responsible according to Pascal Nègre

On X (formerly Twitter), the music producer defended his protégé. He notably indicated that the artist had no say in the development of this box set. “It is good to point out that at no time was this box set, its design, its content and its price decided in consultation with the artist”explains Pascal Nègre.

“Mylène Farmer discovered all this like you on social networks…

Pascal Negre

This lack of consultation with the artist can be explained by the different labels present in Mylène Farmer’s career. The box set which is creating such a stir was in fact developed by Universal and Polydor, who retained the operating licenses for Mylène Farmer’s first albums.

However, the artist no longer has contact with this group since she joined Sony in 2017, after thirty years at Polydor. His career is managed by NP, Pascal Nègre’s artist management company.
