The singer supports the Abbé Pierre foundation
On September 16, Nolwenn Leroy was Yann Barthès’ guest on the Quotidien set. The presenter did not fail to question the singer on a current topic. Namely the accusations of rape and sexual assault against Abbé Pierre. Patron of the foundation, the latter did not fail to confide in the situation.Like all French people, we are inevitably shocked because we cannot prepare for this… What can I say except that the fight against housing and insecurity is still more relevant than ever?” she confided.
Before continuing: “We must always support the foundation and separate, I would say, the man that Abbé Pierre could be from his work and the fight that he led.the message he carried.” These remarks have sparked anger among Internet users. However, this is not the first time she has spoken out on this subject.
Nolwenn Leroy cash on the situation in France
Every year, the Enfoirés put on an unforgettable show to raise funds for the Restos du Cœur. Invited on RFM, Nolwenn Leroy had mentioned her participation in the event for the 17th time in her career. However, the singer, who made some naughty confidences, wanted to point out that the 2024 vintage was a special year. That’s when she confided in Abbé Pierre.This year, we celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Restos du Cœur, but also the 70th anniversary of the Abbé’s appeal in the winter of 1954”, she revealed.
Before adding: “Finding yourself in this situation today… Of course Abbé Pierre knew that the daily drama of people in the street and of precariousness would not end with him.We need people to continue to carry this message, to help raise funds and try to make things happen. For me it is important.”
“All French people are saddened”
Committed to the societal cause, Nolwenn Leroy often speaks out to remind people of the importance of the Restos du Cœur in her eyes. For the 41-year-old singer, this is a national fight in which you have to give your all and not give in to fate.We cannot get used to this daily misery. We must tell ourselves that it is inevitable, that there are rich people and there are poor people. […] All French people are distressed and horrified by this situation.” she confided.
Aware of the current issues, the Enfoirés are more determined than ever to support the Restos du Cœur. Moreover, this is the meaning of their song “Until the last”.
