The fake Brad Pitts are said to be in Nigeria. Invited Friday January 17 in the show C à vous on France 5, Laurène Hanna, the victim's lawyer, revealed that the broureurs – the name of these sentimental online scammers – having extorted 830,000 euros from Anne, her client , had been identified.
«On suppose» that these are three people, aged between 20 and 27, and located in Nigeria, said Mr. Hanna. A lead traced by Marwan Ouarab, a repentant hacker at the head of the company FindMyScammer [TrouveMonArnaqueur, ndlr]with whom the lawyer chose to work.
“He managed to coax people into clicking on a link […] they clicked on this link several times, and we retrieved the precise GPS coordinates of these people,” she explained on television. “We have their names, their first names. We have already opened the door to the French and Nigerian police forces to be able to sanction them.”
Investigation opened by the financial brigade
Going through this company is a way, according to the lawyer, to put all the chances on your side so that the complaint is processed: “The police have resources that this private company cannot have. On the other hand, very often, when we present them with a diagram that is already pre-made, they are more able to recover the case and investigate it. she justifies.
Justice is expected to be around the corner in this case, which has been extremely publicized in recent days. An investigation was opened in Reunion Island to try to identify the perpetrators of the scam following Anne's complaint, but at this stage, no suspect has been identified by the police officers from the financial brigade, responsible for the 'investigation.
In the show Seven to eight broadcast on Sunday January 12 on TF1, a woman, named Anne and aged around fifty, reported having paid 830,000 euros to crooks posing as the American star. She had been deceived by fake selfies, falsified identity documents and videos made using artificial intelligence, subterfuges which got the better of her doubts. Pretending to need money to pay for an operation for kidney cancer, and not to have access to his bank accounts due to his divorce from Angelina Jolie, the fake Brad Pitt managed to extract this colossal sum from him.
TF1 pinned by the victim herself
Now ruined, Anne has attempted suicide three times. And, since the broadcast of her testimony, she has suffered massive online harassment from Internet users who mock her supposed gullibility. Due to this virulent cyberharassment campaign, the report was ultimately removed from all TF1 platforms.
-“I am not crazy or stupid, as some people claim, say and write on social networks,” hammered Anne in a video published on the YouTube channel Legend on Tuesday January 14. She deplores the editing of the TF1 show, which she accuses of having cut out some of her comments: “In terms of scammers, I say 40 times, maybe even more, times when I didn't believe it. I say every time, this photo is fake. But in the show, obviously, all that is not said. she insists.
Above all, she accuses the journalist, “stayed two days” for the interview, not to have “retained only what should not be retained, to tarnish my image. It’s only for the purpose of generating an audience.” And reminds him: “I no longer have a roof over my head. My life is a 6 m² box with a few boxes inside. This is what I have left.” “I was fooled, I admit it, and that’s why I testified. Because I’m not the only one in this situation.”
Anne's daughter targeted
Cyberharassment which also affects Anne's daughter, Margaux. The latter spoke this Saturday January 18 in the show The Big Weekon M6. “With everything that’s going on, I’ve gotten a lot of messages, a lot of hate. […] It’s very complicated, very difficult psychologically and morally,” she confides, specifying that her mother, who was violently attacked online, is still hospitalized to this day. “She fought.”
“After all this story, for a year and a half, it was very complicated for her [sa mère, Anne] and for us. But now, she doesn't deserve what's happening to her. She doesn't deserve to be manipulated and she doesn't deserve all this hate on social media.”
Update : at 6:49 p.m. with the testimony of Anne's daughter, Margaux, on M6.
