A new actor for Black Panther?

With the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman in 2020, Marvel found itself in difficulty with the already well underway production of Black Panther 2: the firm therefore gave the superhero costume to King T’Challa’s sister, Shuri, played by Letitia Wright. A priori therefore, the character has officially found an heir, who we expect to see again in the future in the MCU… for example in Avengers Doomsday, scheduled for next year (yes, already).

In any case, this is what Jeff Sneifer, one of the most renowned insiders in Hollywood, puts forward, making it clear that it is necessary to pick up chopsticks in front of the noise in the hallway. Moreover, he claims he doesn’t know if the rumor is about the next Avengers movie or another project.

With the multiverse, anything is possible

A priori therefore, according to Sneider, Marvel Studios would not consider replacing the character of Shuri played by Letitia Wright (who therefore became Black Panther), but to bring back that of King T’Challa with a new actor. In fact, it is entirely plausible story-wise since the MCU is currently going through its great arc of the multiverse, and therefore parallel universes with infinite possibilities.

It’s not the other Marvel feature films that will contradict the theory: we saw three different Spider-Mans for as many actors in No Way Home, while cameos confirmed that there was a version of Wolverine played by Henry Cavill. So certainly, concerning the latter, it was mainly from a humorous angle and more of a wink than anything else, but the possibilities of the multiverse are infinite and finding another King T’Challa would not be a great difficulty. The biggest challenge would be to officially replace a face much appreciated by the public who still regrets his disappearance, years later.
