Christmas is coming and it is a tradition not only to enjoy Movies set on these dates, but to discuss whether some of them can really be considered Christmas movies or not. A saga that until now had been considered far from these important dates – and let's not fool ourselves, it will continue to be so despite this – is ‘Alien’one of the great masterpieces of space horror, and although this aspect has gone unnoticed, one of its installments actually takes place during Christmas.
It is about ‘Prometheus’which is surely the most divisive film among fans, since it left out the terror of the original trilogy and 'Alien Resurrection' to offer a production closer to science fiction. Ridley Scott took us to the origin of the entire story in 2012 with this film, a prequel to everything, in which the protagonist ship arrives at the moon LV-223 to investigate the origins of a race known as the Engineers, since they speculates that they could have some connection with life on Earth. Four years pass from the moment the crew begins their journey until they finally land, finally arriving at LV-223 in December 2093.
Although the crew members do not make much mention of the fact that it is Christmas, this image of Idris Elba's character in 'Prometheus' makes it clear that they are on these special dates.
How do xenomorphs see?
A few weeks ago we were able to discover, thanks to the prequel comic of ‘Alien Romulus’what the vision of the xenomorphs is like from their own perspective. This mystery had been unsolved since the creation of the saga, and while it was already known what the Predators were like, it remained a secret what that of another of the most lethal species in the galaxy was like.
