It is almost impossible for a new release to climb to the top of the ranking of the highest-grossing films of the year and steal their position, especially because this year they have had very good numbers.
The highest grossing film of 2024 is Inside out 2with an impressive 1,698 million dollars worldwide. A record figure that has led it to become the highest-grossing animated film of all time, surpassing The lion king (2019) y Frozen II.
Just a quick look at the list is enough to see that it is mainly made up of sequels or installments of sagas. For example, the second film that has grossed the most this year -1,338 million, that's nothing- is Deadpool and Wolverinea new Marvel story that rescues two of the universe's favorites. Next on the list is Crane. I rude favorite 4 with 969 million dollars, Vaiana 2 with 790 and Dune: Part Two with 714 million dollars.
