Bad luck for Sammy (played by Ichem Bougheraba). This friendly law student from Marseille who makes ends meet by delivering calzones for a Chinese pizza maker nicknamed Giovanlee – the film’s first joke – finds himself in the hands of the police thanks to an improbable micmac. A double of a highway robber nicknamed the Artificer for his art of handling dynamite, he is sent behind bars by mistake. In prison, supported by his whimsical fellow inmate (Arriles Amrani), he benefits from preferential treatment because everyone sees in him the legend of organized crime in whose place he was imprisoned…
Bolstered by the surprise success of the two “Segpas” – two million spectators in total – the Bougheraba brothers are returning in force to the Canebière. After having produced a modern schoolboy revisit of “Sous-doués”, the band is this time looking a little more towards “Taxi”.
With this action comedy adapted from their web series “Under nuts”, the Bougheraba push the sliders of uninhibited fun to the limit, multiplying punchlines not fine but often devastating, situation comedy and gags galore. In this register, Ichem Bougheraba shines as the chief chatterbox with solar charisma.
Double problem: the screenplay, co-written by the four Bougheraba brothers, is based on sand – but why isn’t Sammy exonerated by his fingerprints? And in this Marseille “boys club”, women are relegated to quasi-figures. Special mention, however, to some tasty supporting roles from Redouane Bougheraba, impeccable in his lawyer’s dress, and Bernard Farcy, the legendary figure of “Taxi”.
