The live action of Dragons is getting a lot of talk

If you like animated films, you must have already seen the film trilogy Dragons from Dreamworks. It must be said that it is extremely popular and that it instantly rose to the top of the most popular films of this genre, in particular thanks to the quality of its visuals, the writing of its characters and the phenomenal music of John Powell. For quite some time now, it had been revealed that a remake live-action of the first film was in preparation with Dean DeBlois directing, the same person who was at the origin of the animated saga. But just a few days ago, the project shifted into high gear asa first trailer was revealed to the public.

The opportunity to discover that it should be abouta remake modeled on the original film almost shot for shotwhich caused a lot of talk. On the one hand, a certain number of fans are delighted to see how everything has been redone with the greatest respect, on the other hand, many fans denounce the uselessness of such a project, particularly if we do not changes nothing. But in , it's a completely different subject that is debated about the film.

French fans rail against a decision

If you have seen the trailer for the live-action Dragons in French version (as it is available at the top of the article), you have surely noticed that despite the care taken by Dean DeBlois to redo everything identically, one detail is missing: the French voice of the main character. Indeed, while the French public was accustomed to hearing the voice of Donald Reignoux for the character of Harold, another actor was selected here. A change that does not happen at all if we are to believe comments on the video on YouTube. Indeed, many of the most liked comments only talk about this absence, and this is also an observation that can be found on social networks. However, the main person concerned seems less shocked:

Even though he has already expressed his love for the character of Harold and for the saga Dragons On several occasions, Donald Reignoux preferred to share his enthusiasm for the trailer rather than making any negative comments on the choice of actor selected for the French version. Remember that there could be at least ten reasons which would justify the choice of this change, from Donald Reignoux's schedule to his potential desire to pass the torch to someone else, including the fact that the actor does not It's not the same in the original version either. Moreover, it sometimes happens that the voice actors are not the same for the trailer and for the final filmthere is therefore still hope for those who definitely do not want to give up. In the meantime, we also remind you that a live-action remake has never erased the film it adapts from existence, and that since animation is not a subgenre compared to live-action (quite the contrary), you will always be able to enjoy the voice of Donald Reignoux in the Dragons original.
