Daniel Craig responds to speculation about his successor as James Bond

Daniel Craig has responded bluntly to speculation about his successor in the role of James Bond.

After gaining worldwide fame thanks to his iconic role as James Bond in the film franchise, Daniel Craig does not want to get involved in choosing his on-screen successor.

When asked while promoting his film “Queer” with co-star Drew Starkey which actor he would like to see reprise his role, Craig Daniel told Variety, “I don’t care.” Daniel Craig played the secret agent in five of the 27 productions of the saga: “Casino Royale” (2006), “Quantum of Solace” (2008), “Skyfall” (2012), “Spectre” (2015), and announced that he was retiring after his last appearance in “No Time To Die” (2021).

Since then, several names have been circulated to succeed him, including Idris Elba, Tom Hardy and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the latter seen as the favorite after his performance in a 2023 screen test impressed producer Barbara Broccoli . The actor, known for his roles in ‘Kick-Ass,’ ‘Bullet Train’ and ‘Nowhere Boy,’ has also received support from former James Bonds, such as Pierce Brosnan and George Lazenby, who believe he could be the ideal choice.

Since his departure from the franchise, Daniel Craig has notably starred in “Glass Onion” (2022) and his new film “Queer”, which should be released soon.
