“I was a pretty dunce”reveals Alexandra Lamy with a lot of humor. This Sunday, November 3, the actress was invited to Julia Vignali’s must-haves to promote his new film. In theaters on November 6, Louise Violet brings to the big screen the story of the first schoolteacher sent to the countryside during the establishment of compulsory primary education at the end of the 19th century. Alexandra Lamy, who plays this schoolteacher, confides on Europe 1 that “his teachers loved him”despite its poor results. “I made the class laugh, so it wasn’t bad”says Jean Dujardin’s ex-wife. The release of this feature film is also an opportunity for her to pay tribute to one of her teachers who helped her when she was younger: “I am here today, thanks to a French teacher, who gave theater classes and who was the head teacher. To make myself look good, I went to theater class”.
Chloé Jouannet’s mother didn’t expect him to tell her that she had talent and that she had to go “at the conservatory”. However, she thought that her parents were not going to accept her taking drama classes, to which her teacher responded: “It’s not serious. We won’t tell them”.

“It’s an extraordinary vocation” : Alexandra Lamy in admiration of school teachers
Alexandra Lamy benefits from the promotion of Louise Violet to pay tribute to these unknown people who dedicate their lives to educating the younger generations. “I think we always have a teacher who has done us good. […] Having teachers who are there to give you this choice in your life to children they don’t know, who are not theirs, it’s still an extraordinary mission and vocation”. She concludes on a more pessimistic note, alluding to the murders of Samuel Paty and Dominique Bernard after terrorist attacks that occurred in 2020 and 2023 respectively: “Today, moreover, there is the resonance of saying that it is a risk to be a professor. That’s completely crazy too”.
