“The Jurassians go on vacation”, original creation of Mois du doc’

What were the holidays like for Jura residents from the 1930s to the 1970s? The documentary “Jura Super 8”, an original creation of Mois du doc’, will offer previously unseen images from the period. It will notably be screened during the opening evening of the traveling documentary film festival on November 2 in the CFF warehouse in Moutier. “The Jurassians go on vacation” was produced by Olivier Kuenzi using reels found by Géraud Siegenthaler in flea markets. Once the reels were digitized, thousands of hours of viewing followed and “five little films” were created, explains Olivier Kuenzi.

Welcome gift to Moutier

The public will be put in the mood from the opening ceremony of the festival: Le Mois du doc’ has given carte blanche to Prévôtois Patrick Dujany to launch the festivities. As a result, the rock group “Duja”, “D-Fender”, and a group from Vevey will perform in the CFF warehouse at Moutier station. Three documentaries will also be screened on site, enough to delight your eyes and ears. Le Mois du doc’ wanted to offer a welcome gift to Moutier, as part of his upcoming arrival in the canton of Jura.

Among the other highlights of the festival’s programming, the arrival of director Frank Pavich for the documentary Jodorowsky’s Dune, “the best documentary on cinema”, according to the organizers, is worth noting. The Le Mois du doc’ festival will be held from November 2 to 24. /mmi
