LThe coincidences of the distribution mean that two documentaries devoted to the actor Christopher Reeve – magnificent and complementary – are released in October: the American Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Storyby Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui, as well as French Christopher Reeve, the eternal Supermanby Philippe Guedj and Philippe Roure, which will be broadcast on October 25 on the TCM Cinéma channel and on which Le Point Pop will definitely come back.
Distributed in theaters, Super/Man is therefore signed Bonhôte and Ettedgui, already authors of a very beautiful 2018 documentary dedicated to the fashion designer Alexander McQueen. This time, they tackle the tragic story of a beginner actor, who suddenly soars to the top of the world at the age of 26 by becoming for millions of spectators the perfect incarnation of Superman, a pop icon – until drama which will pin him to a bed of pain, following a fall from a horse, in 1995. For their film, the two men obtained the blessing of the Reeve family and full access to their archives.
